You might lose your license for at least 30 days to 3 monts but if not youll have to pay for the mail box and the replacement of the stop sign trust me I know I have a friend that lost his license for 30 days for careless and inprudent driving. But you can walk away with just a fine. But that ranges according to what part of the state your in too.

Driving is a privilege, not a right. You can lose your driving privilege if you disobey Missouri traffic laws.

The Point System

The Department of Revenue adds points to your record when it receives notice that you were convicted of a violation of Missouri driving law while your vehicle was in motion.

The number of points you receive depends on the conviction. For example, you may receive 2 points if you are convicted of speeding (3 points for a state violation). But you may receive 12 points and lose your driver license if you are convicted of leaving the scene of an accident.

The following are some examples of some Missouri driving law violations and their point values:

Violation - Point Value

Speeding - 3 points
Careless & Imprudent Driving - 4 points
Knowingly Allowing an Unlicensed Driver to Operate a Vehicle - 4 points
A Felony Involving a Motor Vehicle - 12 points
Obtaining a Driver License by Misrepresentation - 12 points
Operating a Vehicle With a Suspended or Revoked Driver License - 12 points
When You Have Four or More Points

If you accumulate a total of 4 points in 12 months, the Department of Revenue will send you a point accumulation advisory.

After 18 points you get your license taken away/

If that was mailbox I would press charges just for you to learn a lesson. You most likely end up with a suspended license and a fine sorry for that though.

If you did not kill anyone, you will only have to pay for damages and do community service maybe 2-5 months and you probably have to go back to driving school. Have your lawyer bargain to have you go back to driving school doing this will lessen the amount of time of community service. Good Luck

well, god, alot of drivers deliberately bump people and they still have their keys to their car. i just don't get out government, the lock up the innopcent and protect the guilty. it's like their saying "go on do something bad, you won't go to jail" yet and person who has been nothing but good suddenly makes a mistake and their jailed for life... that is soo f*****up
