yeah man good question....

there is an artist who is blind who paints what he "sees" in his mind and they're really crazy things so blind people do actually "see" things ... makes sense because although part of the occipital (sp?) lobe of the brain, the part that controls/interprets signals from/to your eyes, still exists in blindness even though it does get partly taken over by other functions.

you might ask "how does this guy know what he's doing/how doese he know that he's painting what he sees?" but if i remember correctly, the guy wasn't born blind, he became blind sometime in his life.

the related question is "can blind people that are born blind paint?"
this isn't an immediate "yes" because how do blind people know that the image on the paper corresponds to what they're seeing. i would think it's due to their motor control that they've developed without respect to sight, but can you say that this automatically makes them able to paint?

Hallucinogens are psychosomatics They're believed to mimic mental illness, particularly schizophrenia.
One of the symptoms of schizophrenia is the transposition of the senses. You 'hear' colors, you 'taste' sounds.
There's no reason to believe that the effect of hallucinogens on a blind person wouldn't be as profound as on a sighted person.

A hallucinogenic dosen't just make you SEE things, it makes you EXPERIENCE things (with all the senses involved). I would think that a blind person would have an experience involving the senses they CAN use.

He still wouldn't see anything, but he'd have some pretty strange auditory hallucinations.
