If heaven is the mind of god and hell is the mind of satan. Then when you die and you lived a bad life, you die with those lies and actions still heavy on your mind. If you live a good life and have no illusions about your belief then you die in peace. the bible is a collection of events told and retold for many years. Is the real truth about heaven and hell that when you die you decompose and go now where but if you have lived a good decent life then you live forever in the stories and memories of man kind. If you die lying to yourself then you will be forgotten. Essentially, the difference between heaven and hell is the foot print you leave behind. Will it still be there a thousand years later? Just tired and asking. I'm agnostic and am just musing.

The hell/heaven is mostly during our lives.
It's the sum of our actions.
You feel when you do something bad regret, remorse, guilt. Even if you don't regret it your life will be tormented.
Heaven is all the good deeds you do from which others or yourself would experience.
The fact that you'll ve remembered after life is one of these good deeds.
You are one of few people here talking about religion who tries to reason about it.
I agree with diva eva

You're not musing. You are tired and broken that there's nothing beyond the box after being buried 6 feet deep. Why did you work for so hard in life, if everything you earner/bought will eventually be left behind to somebody else, who won't appreciate them anyway, or even go to the government. Life is just a but a passing sail. You are searching for something bigger than yourself, believe it or not. You need to believe that you will carry on to bigger and better things after living a good and full life. Otherwise, what was life all about, I'm not talking for someone else left behind who would enjoy your "footprint," but rather for you. A thousand years from now you could still feel alive and live better. Everyone believes in a higher being sooner or later, why not start a bit earlier and enjoy what's left of the life here. Heaven does exist, Hell does exist. Look around, everything is perfectly balanced as if designed. Man does not create only discovers that which already exist. Do you really think murderers, rapists, etc not caught really get away with it? Look, for giggles just check your local churh, and talk to the pastor there and see. Absolutely nothing to loose.

The Bible stated that satan was once an angel of God which betrayed Him.....

hell was created by satan because he was jealous of God being a king to a kingdom so he made his own kingdom thats the opposite of heaven..

You may wana consider actually reading the bible about a definition... heaven and hell is nothing about memories or the such, but are a place for your soul to live in eternal glory or eternal damnation and torment
