Where does the ground wire go?

Question

I have an 1988 F150 w/ 302, fuel injected. i took out the motor, fixed it, then put it back in. there is a ground wire (for the battery) that connects to a hole (w/ a bolt)on the main engine block. oddly to say, but, i can't seem to find the hole! any help?

right as in driver side, right?

My 90 F-150 w/302 ground cable went down to the frame from the battery & connected to a threaded hole in the block right behind the air pump. If you don't have the air pump it will go down on the block on the passenger side almost at the bottom of the block about 3" up from the oil pan.

you have to look in the right place.
The location is below the first cilender on the righ front of the block. If you do not put the cable on the starter will burn out and the starter wire would melt.
The ground should go from the negative side of the batery to the block then to the frame and also to the body so that all your electronic stuff gets a good ground and the power goes the full cirket.

Just ground the wire to the frame somewhere for christ's sake. It's not that difficult. Just make sure you ground it away from excessive heat like near the exauhst manifold. I have seen the exauhst manifold melt battery ground wires and cause fires. Oh and by the way Chevy's don't suck. Mine could blow the doors clear off of your little 302 F150 P.U.

all you gotta do, it find a bolt thats connected to the frame, and attach it there... or, you could go ahead and buy that chevy, itll be less work in the end.
