From a religious standpoint - there is no solution. Israel is God's promised land to his people the Jews. Basically as long as Israel ignores the laws of God and as long as it refuses to accept the birth, life and sacrifice of his only begotten son it will never know peace.
Also, most people do not realize the situation that we are truly in, not facing but in. Five - ten years from know folks will be talking about the beginning of World War 3. It has already started. It began even before 9-11. Just before the time of the 911 tragedy, it may have been able to be turned around. It has been allowed to go to far. During the last World War, America was, for the most part, spared the actual fighting in our homeland. This will not be the case in this World War. It is already being fought on our soil. Don't be surprised when you learn that the teens we produce of dysfunctional families are recruited to help fight here at home. (I believe this will happen soon.)

It would be helpful if Hizbollah would give back the two soldiers they abducted.
Also, if Lebanon would outlaw Hizbollah, which has been firing hundreds of Kassam rockets on Israel, Israel would definitely stop attacking Lebanon.
Until these things happen, Israel CANNOT stop attacking Lebanon, because it has to protect its civillians from further rockets.
To protect its citizens, Israel must stop Hizbollah, either by killing them, or by destroying all their weapons. That is why Israel has sent forces into Lebanon: to stop Hizbollah, since Lebanon is unwilling to do so.
The goal was not to make the Lebanese suffer. In fact, Israel warned the Lebanese that they were going to attack, in an effort to spare their lives.

The conflict isn't really between Israel and the Lebanese government. The soldiers must be returned and Hezbollah disarmed, and the fighting on Israel's side will stop. But I'm sure even after Hezbollah is disarmed some other Israel-hating terrorist group will start attacking them again and they'll have to fight back, and more people will just keep dying.

The government of Lebanon should find and arrest or kill the terrorists holding the Israeli soldiers hostage and the Hezbollah terrorists who are shooting rockets at Israel. They should return the Israeli soldiers in good health to their country without conditions.

You are aware this is a proxy event right?
Issac and Ismael where sons of Abraham.
They were brothers. Their decendants now live and war in the Middle East.
They must remember this and embrace one another as equals or the conflict will never cease.
May this come to pass soon...

the conflict is not between Israel and Lebanon, its between Israel and Hizbollah. if Hizbollah is eliminated and the soldiers are released, the problem will be solved in that area. next would be the predicament with Hamas and Palestine...
