I got pregnant with my now 11 month old daughter while on bc. I was not taking antibiotics, and I took the pill like clockwork. It is possible, but my doctor told me it was very rare to happen if it is taken correctly.

If you're looking for 100 % effectiveness, use bc with condoms. But the pill should be sufficient, I would think. But it can happen. . .

It is, but if used properly (not missing days by accident ect...) It is one of the best prevention. (aside from absinance and getting snipped of course) I use the nuva ring which uses the same hormones as the pill, but is only changed once every 3 wks, instead of daily, and it has been great. So I would be confident. Just make sure you sit your doc. down for a talk about the pill and ask him about anything else that might cancel it out, so you will be more prepared. Good luck

Yes it is. The pill helps keep pregnancy from happening, but it still happens anyway. If you don't want to have anymore kids you will need to do 1 of 3 things;

1 stop having sex (not recommended)
2 get your tubes tied
3 get his testes cut.

everything else is just a possibly better contraceptive.

Yes. You will notice your BC pills don't claim anywhere 100% effectiveness.

Condom + Pill = safer, but like people say nothing is 100%.

yeah, a girl i know got pregnant on the pill, but if you take it at the same time every day you only have a 3% chance of ovulating. so it's possible but not very likely.

Yes, Antibiotics will render birth control useless.

However, youcan get pregnant on the pill, otherwise.

The pill is NOT 100%. Throughout history, times and times again, women have got pregnant even while taking the pill. and rubbers break!!!

If you take the pill everyday at the same time and do not skip a dose then it is highly unlikely. However, if you are not regular about it and skip a dose at times then I would say it is very likely.
