You are too skinny. Ideal weight is your height in centimeters (165 cm) minus the 100 for weight in kilos: 65 kg.
Formula is inches x 2.5=centimeters. In my case 6 ft 2 in or 74 inches equals 180 centimeters. My ideal weight is 80 kg. the is 80 x 2.2 for 176 pounds. Verify that against the new BMI, you'll see the correlation.

Check your Body Mass Index, you should be okay. Just do a search for BMI calculator, there are tons and tons of sites with them.
Gaining weight is a poor goal: what you really want is muscle. Hit the gym, or even just go out and buy some freeweights and lift while you wait for web pages to load or downloads to complete. If you really want to gain mass, eat lots of meat and potatoes. Burgers and Oreos will only add weight to places that you don't want it.

No mate you are underweight. I think you should really weigh at least 60 - 65kg... even more! I'm 5'3, female and weigh 49kg and some consider me skinny...
Start eating high protein products and doing some weights. Maybe get a few personal trainer sessions to get you started.
good luck :)

I'm 26 with the same problem. your metabolism is really fast.
I've been doing weights; drinking weight gain supplements and capsules called "animal stack 2" it seems to be working. I've picked up 5kg in 3weeks.

if your general health is good, your frame small, your energy adequate for your lifestyle then dont change a thing. if you are trying to perform manual labor and can't make it through the day then youu are under weight. most importantly is your percentage of body fat.......you could serve yourself well by focusing on this issue and living a long time

Since ur concerned about your weight over height issue. Better to check for your BMI
BMI- weight (kg)/ height square (m2)
BMI standard (this is just a guideline)
Starvation: less than 15 (<15)
Anorexic: less than 17.5 (<17.5)
Underweight: less than 18.5 (<18.5)
Ideal: greater than or equal to 18.5 but less than 25 (≥18.5 but <25)
Overweight: greater than or equal to 25 but less than 30 (≥25 but <30)
Obese: greater than or equal to 30 but less than 40 (≥30 but <40)
Morbidly Obese: greater than or equal to 40

Ideal body weight is for 5' add 100lbs. Every inch over 5' add 6lbs, So at 5'6'' you should weigh 136lbs. 136/2.5 = 54kgs. Your right on it. Your friends are overweight for their size.
