The Marlins are actually, overall, one of the more successful "small-market" teams. They have won two World Series in their existence. However, they can't sustain greatness because they just don't have the money to compete with the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox, among others.
They also need a new stadium. The current stadium is made for football and is way too far from downtown Miami

Lame? They just split a 4 game series with the defending NL champs. Before that they split with the division leading Mets. With a payroll of 15 million. They're only about 7 games out of the wild card with a team full of rookies.
You will see them back in the playoff hunt next year or the year after.
Ask a Red Sox fan, or Cubs fan how many world series they've seen their team win. I've seen my team (Marlins) win twice in the last 10 years.....how about you????

The marlins are lame because everytime they win a world series EVERYONE LEAVES! They trade everyone! They lose all their chemistry and they try to start over again. It's hard to start over again. The D Train or whatever you call him is overrated. He sucked in the World Series of baseball and he sucks this year! Miguel Cabrera is awesome, that's all you have on that team. I wouldn't be suprised if that team gets sold to another city, they just don't want to spend money and they don't want to keep their players.

Obviously Miami just isn't a baseball town, despite 2 world championships in the last 8 years. However, given their paring of payroll after last season, they have rebounded from a horrible start to become surprisingly competitive of late

Because everytime they win a world series, instead of building a franchise of dominence like the bonhead franchise they are they trade away key players. 1997: Gary Sheffield, Moises Alou, Kevin Brown, Rob Nen, and the list goes on. 2003: Josh Beckett, Brad Penny, AJ Burnett, Derrick Lee, and list goes on and on!

they traded away the talent they have tha lowest salary cap in baseball.they got 2 good players, cabrera & the second baseman.D-TRAIN has a fat, bloaded up era he has been terrible.they do got young talent in there farm system due to the trades they made, in 3 or 4 years they can be a good team if the young prospects are good.

Marlins are really good considering they have almost no money for their players.if th reds start to fall i think theyll be a contender for the wild card.
