i went into the clinic for a checkup and my doctor told me I was in preterm labor and that I was dialated to a 2. I was then admitted into the hospital for 3 days while they they stopped the labor. My question is, I never felt any labor pains or symptoms that indicated that I was in labor. Is there a good chance I will start labor again, and will i be able to identify it if I do start labor again? What are some signs besides the obvious ones? I am almost 34 weeks along and on bed rest now until I deliver.

that is really weird i did the exact same thing!! like exactly. and i was put on bedrest and felt so hopeless, i would lay there on my bedrest and worry because i would feel her move and think... is that labor? but hunny first just relax... when the baby is ready to come she/he will there isnt anything you can do about it jsut relax. take it easy i went into labor 3 diff times and i hated it i couldnt wait for it to be over i was in the hospital almost the whole time of my pregnancy and i didnt smoke i didnt do anything but eat and try to do everthing right so first remember that you WILL know when labor is happening you have a certain feeling that something is getting ready to happen, second the pain of labor is diff than any other pain it feels like period cramps for some people(me) and for some they feel it in their backs and dont let people scare to death saying oh my gosh it hurts so bad, it does hurt ok we all know that but it is a wonderful thing so just relax and you'll know when its going to happen you feel it its unmistakable good luck and if you need anymore help contact me

I had preterm labor with all of my pregnancies. Yes, you will probably start labor again. The best advice is to relax a little. If you constantly worry about it you will make it worse. Just follow Dr's orders and stay calm. You will know if you go into active labor, and they have meds to stop that before you deliver. Also, my oldest was born at 23 weeks and is healthy, so even if your baby does decide to come now, chances are good that she/he will be healthy and alright. Good luck. I know bed rest is hard. been there. Patience is all I can say. It will be well worth it when baby comes.

When I went into labor, I didn't know it for over 16 hours! I didn't have any pains, and I was actually walking around with my husband shopping for part of the time in a city 40 minutes away. They say that nausea could be a sign that you are in labor (I did have nausea, and threw up a couple of times, but thought that was just due to the pregnancy, not labor). You are also restless, anxious, and easily agitated (or could be - it's different in everyone).

Hope this helps! Good luck with everything!! :)
