Oral sex does not mean you lose your virginity. This can only be done by having sexual intercourse with a man.

honestly, being a virgin or being "innocent" is overrated and hold no real meaning anymore. Its a term used by men to label the value of women (or used to be). I would say, if its sex your worried about, wait until your more sure of if you want to have sex. If its the label your worried about loosing, its all BS. But if your worried, wait until your more comfortable with yourself after the act. Virgin in a societal context means innocence and untouched by a man. I would say oral sex takes away that innocence. The fact that your a older than 16 and asking this questions just goes to show how much the definitions of some words have lost some meaning.

Technically a virgin. In reality - No! Oral Sex is SEX and you can catch sexually transmitted diseases from it just as easily as the "normal" way. Genital Herpes loves the moist tissues in your mouth and throat as do many other of the STDs.

Virgin and Virginity? technical and non technical terms are almost the same.

Virging have their hymen intact inside their vagina and during the intercourse the penis pushes the hymen and breaks it .There you loose your virginity.
now breaking hymen can be from playing with a ....finger dildi ...anything else but a penis. does that lead to loosing your virginity?
Simply that having a penis in your vagina and inserting it stops you from being a virgin anymore. Rest .......you can enjoy still being a virgin

In my opinion, no it does not mean you are not a virgin. You will lose it when you are with a guy and you actually had sex with them. Please be responsible and use protection especially at your age. You have your whole life ahead of you to experience before you get tied down with a family.

Virginity is the state of never having had sexual intercourse. And you won't get pregnant. But you can get everything else from oral sex, STD's, herpes, AIDS, unless you use protection.

Mallary,

I think most people equate virginity with having had sexual intercourse, not oral sex.

None of these labels will matter when you are 25, except when someone asks you when you lost your virginity.

No it does NOT mean you aren't a virgin. A virgin, is someone who has had sexual intercourse i.e. penis/vagina (and I write this too because so many people assume a finger in vagina is the same thing and it's not.

Technically, you're still a virgin. A lot of people these days do everything else but have intercourse and still call themselves virgins. I don't buy it.

A virgin is someone who has not had intercourse. Oral sex doesn't count.
