I bought my current laptop 2 years ago, Acer with Centrino Technology (not the current Duo one). It is supposed to last 7 hours fully charged, but now it only last about 3 - 4 hours.
What should I do? I still need the laptop, therefore am not selling or buying any new ones.

Batteries never last as long as they're supposed to. They only last that long under certain conditions.
To get a battery that lasts longer is expensive. For example, whatever you're current battery costs + and extra $100 = 1 to 1.5 additional hours of battery life. Is that extra 1 hour of battery life that important to you? If the answer is yes, then contact your computer manufacturer and they'll hook you up. Otherwise, just live with it.

Hi.
1st check, did you charge for 8 hours on the 1st time that you had brought the battery ? If no, get a new battery & do it. If yes, return to the manufacturer for a 1 to 1 exchange.
Battery life usually last about a year. it's time to change your old 1.

Contact the company that produces your laptop and tell them about your problem...(there is probably a phone number on the bottom of your laptop for customer assistance)...they will most likely send you a new battery free of charge...thats what happened with my Dell...the new battery works perfect.

The last resort would be to buy a new battery.
When you're on the road or mobile, DISABLE: your network card, wireless network, modem, anything that is enabled and you don't use it. Turn your brightness down several notches. Don't do much CPU intensive work, unless you have to.
