i went outside in the heat for about 20-30 min and i noticed how really brown i got on the skin that was exposed to the sun......i thought the sun block protected your skin color...what sun block works the best?? can i use a fading cream to get it back to my normal skin color??

does any one know if there is a liquid spray (sun block) that i can just spray on and go?

Yes sunblock really protects but if you're going to be really active or go swimming you need to reapply regularly. Even on a normal day, you should ideally reapply after a couple of hours. Sunblock doesn't last all day. But the most important thing is to look for one of the following under active ingredients:

Parsol 1789 also called Avobenzone
Titanium Dioxide
Zinc Oxide

These 3 ingredients are the only ones that protect you from UVA and UVB rays. Sadly, there are many sunscreens out there that don't have one of these ingredients. Also, the SPF number refers to how long the sunscreen lasts, not how strong it is. You need to use at least SPF 15. Also, you should apply the sunscreen 20 minutes before you head outside. And finally, sunscreen should be the very last thing you apply because putting moisturizer or something on top could break down the sunscreen ingredients and it won't protect you from the sun .

You can't use any kind of cream to get your skin back to normal. You just have to wait for the tan to fade, and protect yourself from the sun so you don't get darker. Wearing hats will help too.

Sunblock protects your skin by absorbing SOME UV rays, slowing the effect of tanning, but it won't nullify it completely.

Always wear as high of an SPF sunblock as you can if your'e going to bother wearing it at all. Yes there are sprays, but anything hovering around 20 SPF are worthless.

And if all else fails, wear white clothes that have been washed a lot.

Laundry detergents that try to "get colors their brightest" actually add a partially "invisible" dye that reflects UV so that we think the colors are actually brighter than they are. Ofcourse, having reflected that UV means it won't touch your skin.

If you want an excellent SunScreen go to www.wonderful.myarbonne.com and check out their Before Sun Line. I use the SPF 30 and it totally protects me. I take medication that makes me very sensitive to the sun and this product allows me to go outside without having to wear long sleeves! It is great.

The higher the spf the stronger the sun block. If you are looking for brand names don't, even a high spf childrens sun block will do the exact same thing

I used a 30 spf and it left bright white spots on me, that took several years to go away, so I am a little leary with sun blocks.
