It is never too late to learn how to swim! My grandparents used to go to the pool every day and they were 80+ years old. Swimming is great exercise and is very low impact (doesn't hurt the joints like running would). If you are unsure you could check out lessons at the local club pool or YMCA.

You're never too old to learn. Go ahead and take swimming lessons. You're supposed to learn about things all your life, you don't stop learning new things once you hit a certain age. There's no shame in it. Hell, I still can't roller skate. To be honest, I probably never will. While you're at it, learn to do other things too. No time like the present to get all you can out of life.

Age isn't a difficulty to benefit swimming. technique? no longer a huge deal. All you should do is to push water lower than and alongside your body including your fingers (one by technique of one or interior an similar time) and flow your legs interior an similar time, like you pick to push better water behind you. a difficulty may be if you're petrified of water having concern of swimming. once you've concern, then start up learning only in water which could no longer deeper than your body (neck). bypass to deeper water only when you're very positive you could swimm for longer time, lengthy adequate to get decrease back the position from you left and may relax. good success!

You're never too old to learn. Go to your local YMCA and inquire about lessons for adults or find a private teacher in your area. Go for it!
