i am trying to sell some of my own music cds but where to start
i want to charge about $5 for a cd with 3 songs
but should i take a box full of cds to school and the mall or what
i wanted to make a sorta music video with my camcorder to play while im selling my cds
is thisa good way of promoting or is there another way

Look, I know what to do because my peoples is doing this right now in the hip hop scene. I don't now if you sellin' your on music(like the one you record yourself) or makeing bootlege copies of other people cds. Right now you on the right track, but you need to give more songs (at least 12 per cd) on your cd's so people can buy something that worth their money. Plus you need to go to clubs and the number 1 radio station that you and everybody knows about that play the type of music you doin'. Then you need to place posters around and past the word around about your music by the word of mouth. Trust me I see my peoples doin' the same exact thing and they gettin' pay with out a record company help. Plus Nelly ( the St. Louis Rapper) did the same thing too with his 1st album 'Country Grammer" and he sell 9 million copies al by himself without a record company, but the word of mouth.

the best way to promote your music if you are just starting out is to give it away for free at first. no one will buy what they dont already know and trust. 3 songs is usually enough for a demo. If you really want to sell them, you should put on a show of your music and sell the CDs at shows. that is really the best way. you cant sell to fans if you have no fans. build your fanbase... let people download your stuff for free.

The Best way is to Sell it online!
There are lot many website where you can project your Stuff and Sell! They may Charge you something but that is fine!
You can Create Ads from Selling Locally! Try it out !

u can advertise it in ur school by telling everyone u meet about ur creation or u can also advertise online but they will charge u some fee.
i don't know more about this.
