If you were to benchmark the speed of a program on both, chances are, it would run at almost the same speed.

However, the advantage of dual-core is when you have a lot of apps running at once. The second CPU is able to share the load and make each app run faster when running with a lot of others.

Solo Core is more recent processing technologies. I'd rather have that.
