Go to "Edit Profile" and you can add all kinds of great HTML codes, links and more. I'll give you more info in a second...

Backgrounds: Find anything that you would like to use as a background (can be a picture, design, desktop background, etc) and load it onto a generator like Tom's MySpace editor (http://www.strikefile.com/myspace/reborn_3_5.htm). From there, you can also change the colors of the fonts, scrollbars and more. It's very simple and easy to use.

Pictures: Upload them onto a site like www.photobucket.com first (you need to register for free) and then click "My Album". From here, copy and paste the MIDDLE line of HTML to where ever you want the picture to be on your myspace page. If you want it to be in your "gallery", then just click "Edit Pictures" from the homepage after you sign in (next to the main picture).

Music/Videos: Find a site like www.singingfish.com that has a song you would like to use and copy and paste the HTML code they provide where ever you want the song/video to appear on your profile. If that site doesn't have it, you can also find a Music/Video code generator online, like http://rockitmedia.cjb.net/, and that will help create the code for you. Try www.youtube.com also.

Other things to spruce up your page: Do searches on Yahoo to find all kinds of great codes, icons, images, glitter graphics and more to add to your page! That's how I found all the sites that I know of. I'll post some of them at the bottom of this answer for you. Most provide a code for you that you can use.

Other help: You can use other basic HTML on your page. Like if you want something to be in bold, use "..." ("..." being whatever you want to be in bold. A word, sentence, etc). Italics code is .... Underline code is .... If you want to change the color, use .... A hex code is an alphanumeric code that is assigned to that exact color. You can find a good hex chart here: http://www.computerhope.com/htmcolor.htm. If you want to break up paragraphs (like how it is broken up on this answer) you need to use "

" between the paragraphs.

Cursors: You can change the mouse cursor as well with sites like www.soup-faerie.com and more.

Basically anything and everything you can think of on MySpace is customizable. So your number one resource will probably be Yahoo. Anything that you need can be found by doing a search on there and including "myspace" in the search.

That's all I can think of right now. Hope that's a good start for you!! You'll figure it all out as you go along! HTML isn't the most user-friendly way of creating websites and profiles, but you'll start understanding it better the more you use it. MySpace is how I learned everything I know about HTML.

Next to your picture on your page, you will see under it that it says edit. Click on that, and then you will see all the things you have on the page.

In your search such as Yahoo Search or Google or whatever you want to use, type in My Space Backgrounds. You will come up with a list. Save the ones you like in your favorites on your Internet Explorer. When you are ready to make changes, just go to one of them and look through what they have and pick one. Then you will be given the HTML code for it. Highlight the code with your mouse and then right click on it and pick copy. Now go back to your page in the other window, and pick which you want to and then edit it and paste in your new HTML code at the end of your writing. The same goes with decorating too, and when you leave comments for people, there are many places out there that also have different HTML codes for commenting and Sparkle writing, etc. You do those the same way. I have some videos on my page. I got them by finding them on the internet, copying the code with a right click and then going into edit for my page like I said at the beginning. Then you go to one of your entries such as About Me, and insert the code you copied at the end of what you have written there.

To add pictures, there is a link for that on your page that you signed in on. Just click on it and click on browse and then pick any pictures you have on your computer, and then it will upload it for you.

Finally, to upload pictures into your bulletins, get yourself a free account at www.photobucket.com and upload any pictures or videos to it, and then you will see three sets of code by the picture. One give you an URL, website address for the picture. One says tag, and that is the one you highlight and copy to put in your bulletin posts.

The last thing I want to tell you is to play around with it. If you don't like what you see, you can go back and even if you accept it, you can change it. MySpace has its own code pages and it has code pages for free and ones you have to pay for, and the sites I mentioned are all over the internet. Some of them are listed below.
