All drugs should be legalized. It is not the governments job to police our morals.

Drugs may be addictive. But in all seriousness if you are going to use them, you are going to regardless of their legal status.

The law should not be the only thing keeping you from breaking it.

The war on drugs does nothing more than put money in criminals hands, allows children to purchase the drugs more easily (drug dealers don't ask for ID.), Puts otherwise innocent people in jail for possession, often times longer than rapists and murderers, it funds terrorism and gang wars.

Besides the political and economic repercussions, it is wrong to put someone in jail for smoking pot. For injecting heroin, Even for snorting cocaine.

Prohibition is wrong because it makes a crime of something that is not a crime.

You cannot solve through legislation that which is a moral problem.

In all seriousness, if I inject heroin and smoke some marijuana, who am I hurting? Who's rights am I violating?

I do. I do not smoke marijuana, and I have never tried it, but having marijuana illegal is flowing money straight into the Black Market. Pot is a soft drug too! Not too much harmful, if any more harmful at all, than cigarettes. Marijuana needs to be legalized to help crime rates go down and help split up Mexican Gangs. During the prohibition, the Mafia was a multi-billion dollar business, and very bloody as well. The same is with drugs. When alcohol was re-legalized, the mafia almost disappeared. The same will be true with marijuana and Gangs.

Cigarettes are legal becasue the government recieve a hugh amount of tax money from Cigarette companies. Marijuana should not be legalized because i think there is no reason to smoke unless you have a medical condition.

I am a child of the 60's, and hey, we tried, we tried. The cigarette companies were on board, they registered names such as Panama Red and "Rolled GOld", but then there were the republicans....I think that POT should be legal before alcohol. I am 5 years sober, and my friends in high school who smoked pot never did, said, or hurt people the way I did on alcohol, and we all know a mean drunk. The best way to tick off a marijuana smoker is to take away his music or chocolate.

Though current marijuan strains have been bred through the centuries to become more potent, seems a little crazy to me to make a naturally occuring plant illegal.
It has been used for thousands of years in various cultures around the world for a variety of medicinal/spiritual uses.
Cigarettes now are a far more dangerous product than marijuana primarily because of all the toxic additives that they contain.

Cigarettes are legal because the goverment has a tax on them and they make money off of cigarettes. marijuana isn't legal because you get high and cant think straight which can indanger yourself and countless others. i think cigarettes should be illegal and marijuana should stay illegal. Both of these things are bad for the health and safety of yourself and others.

They are both addictive, but you don't get physically impaired by cigarettes as weed does. I do not want it legalized as it will cause more problems, and give kids the impression that it's alright to smoke marijuana.

I think Cigarettes should be banned as well as both are harmful.
Yes you may thing they help calm people but they themselves become the problem not only in the fact that you kill yourself off but the fact that you then need to smoke just to feel ok and when you don’t well crazy town is always around the corner.

Finally its illegal to commit suicide and that’s what smoking is slow suicide. Its only when people put the two together will people finally decide to stop.

C'mon Cypress Hill, can't you think of a better argument?

At least compare the blunt to alcohol, or something that can impair your ability to drive that's already legal.

Cigarettes aren't even in the same league when it comes to the effects on your motor functions...

I have never smoked the stuff in my life, but yes I think it should be legalized! I have seen people smoke it and they don't get nearly as inhibited as someone who is drunk.
