if your football team has any sort of a respectable program at all, you're going to begin training probably within the next week or so. After doing two-a-days through August, you're going to be in the best shape of your life. I wouldn't worry about it too much, although you might want to just do some light jogging to improve your cardiovascular fitness before hitting the field. It'll make the wind sprints that much less brutal.

Focus on your footwork, run through tires and then do it again. Good coaches realize that football is played in ten second invtervals with 30 second breaks inbetween. If you are big man with agility that can be 100% ready with a rest between plays that is all the fitness you really need.

The reason they run you so hard during two a days is to build mental toughness. I suggest sprints with a partner that will not let you quit until you puke, and even then only let you miss one sprint to clean yourself off. Footwork and agility are key.

If the coaches see you struggling but still working hard it will mean more than some guy that can outrun the whole team but not break a sweat.

A good thing to do is to wear some extra clothing while you're running, it will help you get used to the gear and the heat that it can retain.

First of all, cut down your calories. A good way to do that is to eat only 2/3 of what's on your plate. Of course, eating less junk food would also decrease the total intake of calories by a lot.

Cutting out sodas (or switching to diet) also helps a TON. Did you know each small bottle of soda has almost 300 calories? That adds up.

Finally, exercise. Try jogging and weightlifting. You'll probably need to do those next year anyway, if you want to be on the football team.

Good luck, and stay positive. Remember, even if you completely screw up for a little while, you can always get back on track!

run run run. The only thing for you to do is run everyday(Mond. Tues. Wed-off, Thurs. Friday) This will allow your body to adjust to running more frequently. Like one of the other people stated football is played in 10 second intervals so I would run a lot of sprints like 20's 40's and 60's. Run like 10 sprints of each then do some cardio(12 min run non stop) then stretch and walk to cool off then stretch again. Jump rope is very helpful because it helps your timimng. Push ups are very good for you because you probably never lifted weights before so try to do as many as possible everyday and build on that .
Well I hope I may have helped you in some form or fashion, and good luck !

You're still very young...so I have to say a crash diet will not do you, your team, nor your family any good.

So...get your cardio endurance in shape for your schools 2 a day practices. Try to work your way up to 30 - 40 minutes of jogging, every other day. Start swimming too.

Always precede your cardio workout with a good stretch...and end with stretching.

Some things need to be cut from your daily diet like...today...
no more soda, no more chips, no more candy...whether they say fat free is irrelevant. Diet Soda is still equivalent to a big can of candy. It's gotta go.
Drink lots of water.
Eat lots of fruit.
...and take your time eating.

Good luck

simple - diet and exercise. Don't do anything too drastic, cut out the fat, and get your heart rate above 120 for 30 minutes or more every day. These are VERY GENERAL suggestions, consult your physician before adopting any weight loss regiment.
