Far sadder to see someone who has such a total lack of knowledge of current events standing forth. There was some suspicion that the anthrax mailings might have involved terrorists or even Iraq, as speculated upon by the major media outlets at the time, having worked for ABC at the time I well recall, but the Bush Administration never maintained any such story and it was later determined, and the information released by the administration again, that the anthrax was of American manufacture. I don't believe that anyone was ever arrested as the actual culprit and in fact one life was lost to an anthrax letter. One of the problems with catching anyone was the flood of prank letters filled with NutraSweet or flour that suddenly began appearing and clouded the trail.
Look, aside from your trying to lay this at Bush's feet without any supporting evidence what so ever you might want to consider how it is that a man as supposedly stupid as Bush has systematically mopped the floor with much touted intellectual titans like Ann Richards, Al Gore and John Kerry? Part of the reason for this are the near hysterical, and completely laughable, accusations leveled against Bush, like your anthrax rant, that color any legitimate criticisms with the same broad brush. The focus seems to still be on Bush even though he is a lame duck and is probably happy to draw the political fire. This sort of brilliant strategy will probably lead to another Republican White House win in 2008. As for who was responsible for the anthrax mailings,,,not a clue, possibly the lone gunman mailing from the grassy knoll.

You're giving the Bush Administration way too much credit. President Bush did not orchestrate the Anthrax Attacks. The Anthrax Panic has simply been shoved down the Memory Hole along with Bush's Mission to Mars, the SS privatization disaster, Bush caving in to Ayatollah Ali Sistani's demands for Iraq elections, the ricin sent to Congress in early 2004, and that 82% of America didn't think the Feds should interfere in the Terry Schiavo case. Bush's white trash followers aren't cognizant enough to remember what happened six months ago unless Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh rants about it every day. This is best exemplified by Bush's ability to get white trash to vote against their own economic self-interests to stick it to a bunch of gay people they don't even know. He does this every two years and then renegs on his pledge, but he got reelected because of it.
Look: Back in late 2001, someone sent several packages of anthrax through the US Postal System with handwritten notes that read "Kill America Kill Israel Allah is Great". Five people died (Mark L is lying), Congress got shut down for the first time since 1814, and the nation was thrown into a panic the likes of which I've never seen in my lifetime. The perpetrator or perps are still out there somewhere on the Great American Plain. Bush didn't do it. But since it would serve him no political gain to dredge that attack up he's never going to pursue it. When the last time Rush or Hannity mentioned Anthrax?
For Bush's white trash followers the attacks might as well never have happened. When white trash say "We've never been attacked by the terrace since Nahn Elay-a-ven" bring up the Anthrax Attacks and you'll be met with a blank stare.

The Anthrax seems to be an opportunistic attack where the real attacker was using foreign attacks to cover his/her identity. The anthrax was found to be produced by an American Lab. They annnounced that they were still looking but that the chances were very slim that they would ever catch the real culprit. In regards to Americans being gullible. We aren't. We were pissed off and we didn't really care which country got the bombs as long as it appeared the enemy and friends of the enemy were hurting. Every American knows that Bush was lying or mislead. We realize it was about fuel. However, it was "just" about fuel. There was the location. The fact that Saddam, regardless of our other agendas, is commonly known to be guilty of actual uncontested crimes against humanity. There were a lot opportunistic openings at that time. U.S. did what it had been wanting to do for a very long time. We aren't gullible, we're more or less for the action. If we hadn't been, we wouldn't be over there. Our politicians listen to us a little more often than other governments listen to their people. Go ahead call me delusional. I don't see my government nearly as rotten as you do. I have every belief that even though Bush is screwing up a lot, that what he is doing he does with the U.S.'s best interest in mind. Let the abuse about my statement begin.

Skip the X files watching......
The case is unsolved. And I doubt The National Inquirer is high on the list of folks the govermant wants to kill. The Anthrax was real. The persons who did it have not been found. Letters that contaminated a post Office in NJ took 3 years to clean up. A few suspects were found but no hard evidence linking them could be made.

More than a Scare or Illuision
Follow-Up of Deaths Among U.S. Postal Service Workers Potentially Exposed to Bacillus anthracis --- District of Columbia, 2001--2002
In October 2001, two letters contaminated with Bacillus anthracis spores were processed by mechanical and manual methods at the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Brentwood Mail Processing and Distribution Center in the District of Columbia. Four postal workers at the Brentwood facility became ill with what was diagnosed eventually as inhalational anthrax; two died.

I hope your tinfoil hat fits properly. Your comments may be the most convoluted line of thinking I have read on the internet.
To answer your question -

A former scientist-loner type creep was investigated in the Maryland area by the FBI, but they never made a firm conclusion on whether he was the perpetrator or not. Whoever it is, they've laid low in the wake of 9-11.

It's still an open FBI investigation, but nothing would surprise me about this administration anymore. I wouldn't put anything past them, but I would need to see some pretty conclusive evidence to believe Bushco was responsible for killing and endangering US citizens, especially congress people.

Read up on the Quantico Letter, someone tried to frame Dr. Ayaad Assaad. That has never been resolved.
