I think though that if you are taking a poll, most people who answer yes will respond to this. The people who do not say it will probably not respond so much.
I know that I am the only person who says it where I work - nobody else does, yet reading the answers here most say yes, which does not, I think, reflect the wider popluation at large!

i always heard its because when you sneeze your heart skips a beat and when someone blesses them it starts back up again kind of superstictious good luck thing to keep you alive

I hate it when someone says it to me.
I won't accept a blessing from a stranger.
I'm already blessed damn it.
I either ignore them or roll my eyes.
Most of them are atheists anyway so it's insincere.
