Any advice for single mother to make friends?

I just want to find and make friends with people my own age ( I am 27). I am in college (again) and everyone is either much older or much younger, and I am not working (except as student and mother), so I don't get out anywhere else much. Also, I don't even see many people my age at church who could be friends.

Please help.

I must apologize. This was not supposed to be so focused on age, but on interests and common stages in life. The younger people I meet in class are more interested in going out, partying, or other extracurricular activities I cannot do at my stage in life. The older people can be good friends, but I tire of only having friends who have children my age.

I have this same problem too! When I walk into a class I look for someone who might be interesting and I sit near them tryingto start a conversation. Guys usually work best or older women. Join a club or soroity. I barely have time for friends unless they want to talk on the phone or have kids so that we can interact. I don'tmind new friends...you can contact me!

I think you will make friends if you stop looking at age as the determining factor.You should give people a chance just because a person is not your age doesn't mean they don't share the same goals are the same problems Maybe you should try to talk to some of your class mates they may have the same career choice as you do. And have you given any of those church women a chance? I'm sure some of them has a child or two and can probably help you out. there are different types of friends.

make a few online friends, try 2 find some spare time 2 get out of the house 2 a comunity event, small social outings, places u can take your child, single parent support groups r great and u will make loads of new friends there, play areas 4 your child, anywhere u can take ur child that there might b adults, strike up a conversation and see if u cant find someone from there.

When your at the store or just out of the house , have you ever tried making conversation with anyone? If not you should try it it's very good to meet new people . Just remember "Look deep before you leap". As in get to know that person really well or it could be an unwanted and unknown friend!

Gosh, I would think about it, but I am a bit insulted by the age question. You are looking at it all wrong. I have friends from 21 to 62. I mean good friends. People I hang out with and go places with.First you need to disclose your area, Kinda' narrow the search.

I savour it is only a word or 2, yet, 'to make a bypass'........! Sorry, it only tastes of a lot ''making plans'', like a series of protection rigidity manoeuvres. for my section, i'd recommend you may want to do somewhat extra speaking mutually with her if, operating example, she may be wondering you're probably gay. yet then, you're in the direction of the priority and also you've were given a particular experience for it......... communicate, extra communicate, is my advice. yet then, possibly others may see it diverse. You can be friends with people that aren't your age. You find people to be friends with that have common interests.

i found many new friends in reconnecting with some old ones, parents of the friends of my kid, and also parents of kids who mine plays with (soccer, etc.). He's going to start 2nd grade this fall.

it's hard. i work and can barely "get out" so I know exactly what you mean!

Maybe you can look up a Local Social Group, it worked for me.

get your kids into little league baseball. there you will meet all kinds of friends
