Okay genius, first of all there IS NO 50GB iPod, there's a 30GB and a 60GB version. Geez. And you can put video on both, well actually you can put videos on any iPod and play them, but I'll tell you about that in a minute. Plus you don't HAVE to use iTunes. First of all make sure you have the 5G Video iPod, otherwise it's different. Well if you have it then you need to download a converter program that will convert your video files to mp4 or H-264 format, the only formats your iPod can play. So I suggest a free program like Videora iPod Converter (Google it) and just make an mp4 copy of your video. Then drag and drop them into iTunes and update your iPod then you have movies on your 5G iPod. Now if you have a different iPod (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, Mini [all with black and white screens {monochrome}] or an iPod Photo or color, or a Nano) you have to do something different. First of all you need something called iPod Linux. If you have no clue what this is then you need to go to http://iPodForum.co.nr/ and register in the forums to learn all about it, what you can do with it, and how to install it, which is very easy. Because not only can you watch movies on your iPod (yes, even if it has a black and white screen), but you can also play games on it, like Doom, Half-Life, Quake, Pacman, Tetris, all the Mario and Supermario games, and more. By the way, proof of all this is on that site above, http://iPodForum.co.nr/ But just get iPod Linux on your iPod by going to that site and reading the tutorial that shows you how, then you will learn how to play videos on it from the same site. Enjoy!
