No because politicians don't cause crime, unemployment or health care crisis.
Politicians are people who are elected to serve the people. If politicians were term limited, there would be a huge mess in the process.
Oregon tried it about 10 years ago. It was a bumble **** of an effort and it made everyone really unhappy. Agencies like DMV and Veterans Affairs and the State Health Department were not doing their job because nobody had any clout to go in there and crack heads. It was a total mess. Instead of waiting for 2 hours to take a driving test, it took the whole day - maybe - if you didn't have to come back tomorrow.
Don't even go there. If there were term limitations, it would be a vacation for everyone in state government and federal government agencies that think that term limitations means party time for them.
No term limitations.

This is the dumbest idea. This is basically how the British system works. If the people like the guy, he stays. If they don't there's an election? Who decides when they get a longer tenure or when it should be shortened? The people? The politicians? All this does is open a new government agency that we don't need. We give our politicans a certain amount of years to serve, let's give them all of their years to prove what they can do to serve our country. The country fluxuates, just like the economy. Just because crime rates are up, that doesn't mean a politician has to run for office. In fact, nothing is more distracting to a politician than having to run for office. Just let them focus on their job.

Read the constitution. Politicians serve in the House for 2 year terms. They do not have "tenure." Politicians serve in the Senate for 6 year terms. They do not have "tenure" either. Just read the constitution.

Okay ... qualify this:
There are One million people in the US who are under some kind of court supervision. That is the biggest number in history. That is one million people out of three hundred million people. That means that the crime (or criminal) rate is something like .03% of the population. Is crime going up, as in there are one million people in the system? Or is crime going down, as in it represents one of the lowest percentages in US history?
Which is it?
