As to whether they count or not only your doctor can answer that question!

As to the first part you can't and it would be a very bad idea to try!!!
Any common fungus or mold (like mushrooms) that are in your yard are essential to the health of your yard and their presence means your soil is healthy!

FWIW, most people get allergies to mildew and other 'black' molds that grow inside modern home that have been made airtight to save energy and *not* to the fungi that flourish outdoors.

Beware of ANYONE who tells you that you can avoid mold - indoors or out. It is ubiquitous. Sorry for the bulletin, but someone hadda tell ya.
