A robbery and murder were committed in Orange County, Florida (just outside Orlando) and one of the perpetrators is believed to have dropped his baseball-type cap at the scene. The number "407" is embroidered across the front of the cap. See Orlando Sentinel story: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_local_orlandocrime/homicide/index.html
Do you think that the 407 refers to the area code of Orlando, which is 407, and do you think that the number 407 plays a bigger role in the identity of an individual in Orlando, who often uses a cell phone? The police in Orlando have brought the public's attention to the fact that the rapper "Ludacris" has a rap song out that is entitled "Area Codes" in which the Orlando area code "407" is shouted out. The question I am raising is that an individual's area code is a bigger part of one's "identity" if this person uses his cell phone often. Do you agree?
Thank you for your opinion.

I believe it has to do with the area code due to the fact that a majority of rap videos are making it cool to "represent whare u from" so when you see 407 it would indicate that he is "repping" and loves everyone to know it. Also famous rappers such as Pit bull, and Rick Ross have hit big recently representing the gangstger side of florida and kids have seen this as the place to represent and can relate to their firends when they see the video on because they all have on the 407 hats

I don't think an area code is a person's Identity. I think that the area we come from plays a big influence on how people recognize us or identify us. I also don't think that people with cell phones identify with area codes any more than those people that don't have a cell phone. I am now in college and I have friends from many different area codes, but i rarely use their area code to identify anyone, since I put their number in my phone book and their name just comes up when they call instead of the actual number.

We both have full access to each other's cell phone. No internet access at home but I wouldn't care if he read every email I've ever sent/received--even if he saw all this on here. We don't check on each other. We pick up each other's phones and mess around--yeah I guess it's considered snooping by some people, but neither of us have anything to hide. If he wanted to snoop he would be more than welcome to. I would find it suspicious if he didn't want me to touch his phone. I would wonder what he was hiding and vice versa. Of course we tell each other everything, and we really don't have 'privacy' in that regard. I don't need that kind of privacy with my husband. I figure the two shall become one, so he has the right to know who I am talking to and what we said. Not that he cares, but he has the right to know if he wants to know. I have to be honest though--IF I were screwing around behind his back, there would be no evidence--no phone calls or texts, no email: I believe 'don't write anything down, don't take any pictures, deny, deny, deny!' So just because you don't find anything suspicious doesn't mean anything. I figure folks who have their other wo/man call or text or whatever are either pretty stupid or want to get caught. Don't leave ANY evidence and no one will be the wiser. Not that I've ever cheated nor do I want to, I just think it's funny how many people get caught so easily.
