my parents(mostly my mother) expected my 4 brothers to get A's in school and in everything they did. but when it came down to me all she cared about was that i passed.
when my brother's didn't get A's she was really mad at them. but if i got the same grade ( a C or something) she'd be really happy with me.....

i already get crap from my siblings for this....
and i'm 19 and she still does it.....
i'm in college and when i bring home A's she's in complete shock with me...
and now after i told her what i want my major to be *i was undecided* she's like "are you sure you want to get into that"
she'd be only happy with me if i became a chef

sounds like your mom, don't expect much from you as she figure you will get married, and your hubby provide for you whilst your brother will have to provide for his own family,so they need to work harder...
enjoy it! i mean, rather than have your mom at your back, she is more relaxed with you.

Moms tend to treat their daughters differently. Unfortunately it's okay not to be "smart" as long as you're "pretty". Moms think about their little girls getting married and having babies. They don't worrry about their little angels becoming powerful and having a good job (that's what men do). It's a sick way to think, but our moms are from another generation. She might have been projecting her own life onto you.

i know it sounds kind of mean but your mom sounds like she wants more for your brothers to get in some first rated college and favores them more than you. trust me my grandmother does this to me all the time.

She may have some old belief that boys are smarter. Or it could be that you are her little girl and she didn't want to be to hard on you.

you need to talk to your parents and tell her that u should all be treated equaly otherwise u might get dirt from ur siblings

Maybe its because she knew that they werent doing there best but with you she knew you always tried your best so that was all she could ask for
