Depending on the story it can be happy ending or sad ending.However the overall message should be optimistic to make the life on this planet tolerable

I prefer happy, but to be true to your story the ending should fit the plot and the guiding events of the book.

a sad ending mainly because most of the books ive read come out with a sequal to sad endings.

not all happy but not to sad. I hate books that end too bad. like there son is lost not dead.

THe one that best fits. We've all seen the hollywood ending that brings everything back together and everyone's happy but it doesn't seem right.

I don't care if it's happy or sad, I care if it fits the tone of the story and is believeable considering the characters.
