I think they were fun when the Reality TV phenomina began, but it's run its course and it's time to move on. There were only a few good reality shows: Survivor, Mole and Big Brother. Mole went out a winner and the other two are still there, but they lose momentum each episode. So much of it is scripted that the Real in REALity is fiction. go figure...

I liked it at first, but now everyone is going overboard with it. There are so many stupid reality shows that are just knock offs of the original ones that there is nothing on TV anymore that families can sit and watch together. what ever happened to just a plain old sitcom like Family Ties, Who's the Boss, Full House, Growing Pains, Kate & Alley--shows that you can watch with your kids!! They need to stop making all these reality shows. Enough already.

ITS DUMB -,
It has little to do with reality, I mean who goes to a deserted Island and gets booted off with a slip of paper in a jug? Or who walks a plank over the sea and pulls tabs off a rope?
They use the good looking women for their nibs to sell the shows. Who would put a mouth full of roaches in their mouth unless they are offered enough cash?
That is not reality - that is just manipulations of money hungry people.

I'll be glad when the networks phase out this newest fad. Some were ok to view at first, but all channels have gone way overboard, and now we're overloaded with "reality" that is all just grabbing for ratings. Most have too much gross-out factors, and soap-opera arguments to be believable and not just for the camera.

I watch it...but it is truly not reality tv. The shows are scripted by th editors. They look for certain characters and exploit moments that help support those characters. Even with the real world, things are taken out of context and even out of order. Sometimes you can tell by looking at changes in weight or hairstyles. They create conflict where there often is none...
but I am still addicted!

It is here to stay, as much as I am not a fan the networks are still producing many new reality series. My producer friend is being followed right now by HBO/Showtime they follow him around for six weeks while he is produced a film. The public still loves it. Myself, I prefer acting and television series.

I do watch reality TV. But!!! I don't treat it as reality. They're more of game shows, I think. Like Jeopardy. I'm not saying whether they are faked or not, but they are not reality. Whose reality is collecting flags from a tank filled with eels and Madagascar Hissing cockroaches???

It was good, until anyone and everyone started getting reality shows. Now there are so many and so many that copy the ones we have they are just getting on my nerves now! I do still watch Survivor. I love that.. but that's all.
