That this whole question and answer point system setup (when best answer is chosen by the asker) promotes a very socialist "whoever is like me gets rewarded" type of mentallity rather than an "I realize I'm not perfect so please guide me toward enlightenment" way of thinking, when the question involves a political or religious criteria.

Anyone else see a parallel between that and the strong divisions being formed in our country?

This is only the case if you let it be so. I have asked many questions about religion, despite being an atheist, and have usually given the "best answer" to the person who best answered the question. The only time I will not do so is when I cannot make a decision and I feel the need to put it to a vote, or when I feel the need to comment further on one particular answer.

You may put the question to a vote, or choose your thoughts of best answer.

Thank you for the 2 points.
However, the 2 points have the same value of this question, which is ZERO.
Therefore I wish you a better day, the power to think logically, as well as to survive in life

I agree, so many times, they are making a statement out of their own hatreds, hoping to upset those who don't believe as they do.

Our country seems to be divided 50/50 down the line, no matter what the question, whether it be religion or politics.
