If you can compose youself enough to post a question on Yahoo Answers, I think you may be safe.

A person experiencing a panic attack is usually unable to function. They shut down. This is what makes a panic disorder so disabling. You are not able to focus on much except an overwhelming fear.

Panic disorders, if properly identified by a professional, can be treated by therapy, and in extreme cases, medication.

You feel like you're having a heart attack and trouble breathing. Sometimes it's an anxiety attack, in which case you can get yourself to calm down, get your breathing and heartbeat back to normal, and relax. Still, you should go to the doctor and have a physical and have your heart checked out, just to make sure.

You will know. At the worst of it you will feel like you are actually losing your mind. Dizziness, trembling, heart attack like feelings. No one has ever died of a panic attack, even though you will feel like you are. Breath from your belly.

it feels like your heart is pounding, and you get dizzy and short of breath, you also have thoughts that you might be dying or are feeling really panicky about where you are. When I get one of those I loudly say in my head "relax relax relax relax" over and over until I calm down, just focussing on the words and not how I'm feeling.
