ok my opinion to brandon on the bottom: you know nothing about technology is your sayiong that theipod is not worthless. 1. the creative zen visionm at the same price has better sound quality better screen quality better quality longer life better themes more features and the quality is great. the ipod IS overrated people only like it cuz its sleek and shiny if people actually cared about specs more then the ipod would be one lonley mp3 player!

i have the zen sleek non-photo version and i absolutely love it. the battery life is not as long as it could be; that is perhaps my one complaint. otherwise it is durable, the functions are easy to use, and the sound quality is great, especially with a pair of etymotic earbuds.

iPods are very overrated, and with the iPod you're stuck with iTunes. With the zens you can load MP3s or WMAs from a whole host of music stores.

First of all, to the guy that said, "iPods are very overrated, and with the iPod you're stuck with iTunes," you are completely wrong. You are NOT stuck with iTunes, in fact there are MANY other softwares out there developed for just this purpose, so people wouldnt't HAVE to use it. YamiPod, CopyPod, SharePod, Anapod, Realplayer, Winamp, and a hell of a lot more. Get your facts straight, buddy.

Now as I get started, I will say right now that I am talking about an iPod Video, not the Photo, because the Video is newer and better and is for the same price as the Photo WAS when it came out (well not exactly, it was around $500, but it became the new iPod and was then $300.) It has the same exact features but better: bigger screen, easier video capabilities (not having to hack it), longer battery life, etc. If you want to go cheaper with the Photo though, then I still support you because it's an iPod and if the 5G iPod isn't what you need then get a Photo.

Now here's my take on the iPod Video.

A 5G iPod Video. I will give you a whole bunch of reasons why it is worth it (I have one by the way.) First, it can hold 7500 songs. You don't see many MP3 Players that can do that do you? The PSP can hold songs, but not a lot and if you want a lot you have to buy expensive memory for it. Also, the video capabilities option is wonderful. Since the vidoes are always large files, the 30GB harddrive will come in handy instead of a $100 1GB flash memory card. I have at least 100 videos on mine, a bunch of south park episodes, the simpsons, family guy, and 10 movies on top of that, and still room for 750 songs and over 400 photos, with 5GB to spare for whatever I want. Plus the 5G iPod has a 2.5" display, which may seem small compaired to the PSP, but you will get used to it. And the iPod is one of the very few mp3 players that can be hacked. I mean the real deal, playing Doom, Half-Life, Quake, and more games on it, writing text documents on it, painting pictures on it, and a whooole lot more. Look into iPod Linux, Rockbox, and iPod Wizard (for more info on this, go to http://iPodForum.co.nr/ And I could go on an on all day about why you should get the iPod Video. One other reason: once you have it in your hand the first time, you will never put it down. It's got a great look and I take mine everywhere. To school, on the bus, to the mall, my friends' houses, I even listen to it when I'm falling asleep. I'm addicted to it. I love it. If you get one then you will definately know what I am talking about. By the way, I was just talking about the 30GB iPod. If you get the 60GB iPod, then you can double everything I said which would be even better (the 60GB iPod is $400 and the 30GB is $300.) Good luck with your decision.

Absolutely the Ipod because Itunes is so much more convenient to use. More people have Ipod's, so it would be easier to resell it also.
