First and foremost do you really want to quit smoking? If you do then there is always hope of quitting. Are the reasons to quit strong enough or is it so important for you to quit smoking? Do you want to quit because of your loved ones such as your girlfriend, wife, or children or your own health? You must find and feel the urgency and dire need to quit smoking is too great rather than to continue smoking. Tell yourself, picture yourself how successful and honourable you are when you have finally call it quits. Also pay a visit to a lung cancer ward of smokers. You have to use both the pull (attraction factor) and the push (repulsive factor) to help you stop smoking. Also dissassociate yourself from the company of smoking friends. I wish you the best of luck. Remember, if you really want to do it, you can because if you think you can, you can!

Your in for a painful experience. Try exercising whenever you have the urge to smoke, even if its in the middle of the night. Stop whatever your doing and start running around the house like a crazy person.
Also, if your still feeling adventurous, wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap the hell out of yourself whenever you want to smoke. That way, you brain will associate wanting to smoke with pain, and therefore, you probably won't want to smoke after a while.
There are a variety of patches and gums out there that you can try, too. I only wish you the best of luck. Its harder for some than it is for others.

well....first you gotta want to quit...which apparently you wanna do.
U can try stopping cold turkey...but more people return to the bad habit again and again....why don't you try first to see how many you smoke a day.....lets say 20. The next day just skip one and smoke 19....the following go down to 18 and so on. Before you know it you quit.
Also sit down and see what u associate smoking with...lets say u smoke after you eat...its kinda automatic, so you have to try very hard to kick that habit, try chewing gun after you eat or something.
Good Luck and good for you for trying to quit!

Well you are taking a very addicting drug. I recommend putting yourself in a place where smoking is viewed as very bad. If you have friends that smoke avoid them until you are a "born again nonsmoker." My niece quick cold turkey by staying with me her evil aunt that took her car keys and lived 20 miles out of town, far away from cigarettes. If you can put yourself in such a place, do it. She was a bit vile with me, but I loved her enough to tell her to go to, well you know where. Good luck, if it doesn't work this time keep trying.
