Anybody ever heard which way they lean? I'm thinking I've heard it's to the right but can't remember. Asking for a reason btw... cuz this show I watch has a lot of guest from there and I always like to know when someone is trying to influence me one way or another.

I think it's editorial board is left leaning but I think their news division is fairly unbiased. The stereotype though is that is the left leaning paper, particularly when compared with the Washington Times.

I'm pretty neutral myself on the political spectrum. As a professor of political science: most media outlets by definition lean slightly left as reasonable freedom of the press would require. The job of the media is supposed to be to dig up the issues. Most reporters are educated at Universities that stress freedom of the press and reporting the news that may make the government look bad. However in order to get access to stories the press needs to work with the government to get leaks and contacts inside.

In the early 1970's The Washington Post kept working on the Nixon Watergate story, while under constant pressure to drop the story. They were considered very left at that time. Since then they have become more mainstream and would best be described as slightly left of the center on the political spectrum - right where the media should be.

Some things need to be slanted. Educated Democrats wouldn't want a liberal military would they? No-one does. And no-one wants a liberal press. Not even educated Republicans would want that.

I think the Post is stereotyped as being a "right" wing paper, while the New York Times is said to lean to the left. It's great to research biases, but just keep in mind that just because those guests work at the Post doesn't mean they're being biased, so think about what they say!

In the Washington area, it's believed to lean to the left, but compared to other places (like NY) it looks right-leaning.

I get the Sunday edition for the coupons. The Post leans so far to the left, they might as well just lay down.

What does it matter? Listen to everyone, do some of your own research!!

Don't let other people tell you what to think or what is right or left!

You have a brain, use it!! You will soon figure out who is lying and who isn't!!

It is past leaning, it has fallen over on its left side.

One of my links in my question is for the washington post, and one is for fox news, you decide.
