Meteorology is not an exact science.It is like astrology.It may or may not happen.It depends on various factors.Weather channels always play safe.Head of the channel just looks out of the window,and if it is cloudy,announce intermittant rain heavy or scattered may happen.
Heavy rains in Mumai(india) in July 2005 and July 2006 was not predicted by any channel.Similarly they predicted heavy rain from11 July 06 to 15 July 2006,with tidal waves!.But those days were pleasant and there was no rain!

Being a weather person is the best job in the world. I have never seen another job where you get paid to be wrong every single gosh darn day. I work construction and I can tell you that weather people can not tell you what it is going to do more than three hours out. Yes three hours is their limit. Some of them are not even that good.

It's a conspiracy!!!! No really what I do is i watch the weather channel plus our two local channels and then go with which ever two were closer in information.
Good luck I understand that needing to water the grass thing!

The weather channel is usually always a day early (or more) on the weather asnd about 5 degrees off on temp.
