Likely, no. If you believe that your contract contains such an exception, then review your contract or call your carrier. Even if they have such a clause, it might be just as difficult to prove your health condition as to just maintain the contract. As I am sure you are aware, it will also be just as costly to maintain the phone for the length of contract as to pay the early termination.

No those cell phone contracts are very very hard to pick through, but you signed and its an agreement, you would need to live in an area where there is no service in order to terminate the contract without getting charged. I work with Verizon Wireless and yeah...Call up a 1800 hundred number for the wireless service and try to get it out of a representative.
They do sometimes make exceptions and will help you out

I think it's possible, do the next: Find someone else who wants to have a cellular phone service, once you convince him (her) contact your customer service and ask for a transferring your account to someone else. The other person will save the deposit amount you already paid for. You both need to be together to make such transaction. This can be made by phone. The other guy will be able to change the ph.number with a short charge.

You can call them and ask. more than likely you will still have to pay the termination fee. Try dropping your plan to the lowest available. Some plans start at $19.99

find a spot that they dont offer service (get a zipcode and adress from somone who lives there)
tell them you moved there.
that voids the contract because you dont have cellular service.

Call customer service and plead your case. They will probably say no at first, persist.
