you know I had an ex that called me on my B day after we broke up and he left a message I thought it was nice that he remembered but then it lead to things that shouldn't have happened so an email or something would be OK and a phone call if you want. But if things were bad then just let it be and move on

Let it be and move on. You can send him an email if you'd like, but just a short sweet "Happy Birthday" ... nothing more. Move on though.

if it's not official go ahead(Birthdays are important)! But if it's officially off then don't. I know it's hard but you will get over it! Good Luck I hope things work out!

Just send him a text message on his phone or something.. Nothing serious, just say like...."Oh wow.. I just realized today is your bday. Happy Birthday Have a good one:" that way he knows your not begging for a response back, and it shows that you not a *****.

you should not wish him happy birthday because you stopped talking and stuff so you should let him be and move on in your life

you can call, if you feel weird, then text him or give him a mail. breaking up with your ex boyfriend doesn't mean you guys can't be friends. I'm still good friends with all my ex boyfriends.

leave it, dont start it. move on.
it might be a starting point for some more contacts, calls, emails which might go no where, just an ego clash.
if you have decided to move on, dont call him
