Hey II don't think Irish Red was your worst response. She called names but a lot of people got mad because you thought you could just smack the child. That really hits home when you're a mom and your child is just not cooperating like you would want him to. You don't wanna think of a stranger hitting your child because they have to deal with your child for a few minutes but on the other hand you have to deal with the child until age 18 and then on. They just were upset, hit her with kindness give her the best answer then tell her a$$ off when she reads the comments and rating you give her. Be the bigger person.

Rudeness has been elevated to an art form these days. Apparently this woman believes that she doesn't have to make her kids behave in public due to a number of reasons. Clearly she has no real answer to the subject and decided to attack you personally. It reminds me of the Islamists transferring the fault for the present Mideast conflict to Israel.
I recall a similar issue reported on 6o Minutes. The owner of a restaurant felt a lady's kid was being extremely disruptive day after day. When he politely asked her to keep her kid in tow, she freaked and started a boycott on the restaurant.
When I go to a restaurant and they ask me whether I would like smoking or non-smoking, I reply, "No smoking, no kids." Frankly, I feel I have the right to a quiet meal while a huge number of people believe that their disruptive little brats are just darling to everyone in the whole world. I disagree and I often say something, politely. I have to say that 90% of the parents react in a somewhat hostile or extremely defensive manner. I just don't understand, but clearly this woman you mention is part of that group that doesn't mind violating my space if it makes her job easier.
There was a time when parents would excuse themselves when their children misbehaved. Now they practically insist upon their rights to disrupt other people. It just shows you how far a society that only depends on laws rather than simple rules of behavior can sink.

Its called an Ad Hominem argument, where someone attacks you instead of actually intelligently debating with someone because they have no real explanation or answer. Basically these people are "illogical" as Spock would say..lol
Wikipedia.... An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin, literally "argument against the person") or attacking the messenger, involves replying to an argument or assertion by attacking the person presenting the argument or assertion rather than the argument itself. It is usually, though not always, a logical fallacy
Ad hominem as logical fallacy
A (fallacious) ad hominem argument has the basic form:
A makes claim X.
There is something objectionable about A.
Therefore claim X is false.
The first statement is called a 'factual claim' and is the pivot point of much debate. The last statement is referred to as an 'inferential claim' and represents the reasoning process. There are two types of inferential claim, explicit and implicit.
Ad hominem is one of the best-known of the logical fallacies usually enumerated in introductory logic and critical thinking textbooks. Both the fallacy itself, and accusations of having committed it, are often brandished in actual discourse (see also Argument from fallacy). As a technique of rhetoric, it is powerful and used often, despite its inherent incorrectness.
In contrast, an argument that instead relies (fallaciously) on the positive aspects of the person arguing the case is sometimes known as "positive ad hominem," or appeal to authority.
[edit]
Usage
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself. The implication is that the person's argument and/or ability to argue correctly lacks authority. Merely insulting another person in the middle of otherwise rational discourse does not necessarily constitute an ad hominem fallacy. It must be clear that the purpose of the characterization is to discredit the person offering the argument, and, specifically, to invite others to discount his arguments. In the past, the term ad hominem was sometimes used more literally, to describe an argument that was based on an individual, or to describe any personal attack. However, this is not how the meaning of the term is typically introduced in modern logic and rhetoric textbooks, and logicians and rhetoricians are in agreement that this use is incorrect.
Examples:
"You claim that this man is innocent, but you cannot be trusted since you are a criminal, as well."
"You feel that abortion should be illegal, but I disagree, because you are uneducated and poor."
"Only right-wing nutjobs believe that homosexuals account for one to two percent of the population."
Not all ad hominem attacks are insulting:
Example:
"Paula says the umpire made the correct call, but this is false, because Paula is too important to pay attention to the game."
This is an ad hominem fallacy, even though it is saying something positive about the person, because it is addressing the person and not the topic in dispute.

I have no idea. I think people are rude because they are ugly and bitter about it. Just kidding, people. Seriously though, ask her yourself what is up.
Unless she's a coward like many people are on here who will say whatever they want and then hide behind the fact that you can't email them. In that case, I know it's infuriating but just let it go. Too much time spent on her lame answer already.

She's out of line. Parents of out of control kids are always defensive. I hate to say it, but I agree with you. I work with developmentally disabled adults, and when they act out in public it is my job to protect the public from them and vice versa. If the kid was tired, then she should have given him something to keep him busy. I went to a movie the other night and this woman let her kid run up and down the aisles until enough of us complained. I know you paid your money, have the right too... or whatever. But, the rest of the world has a right to peace and quiet, safety from your kids issues and tantrums, and to not have to put up with your kid's behavior problems. Yeah, they are children, and are going to act like it. Fine. Leave them at home with the sitter. Watch the movie in your family room. Get your food to go. I didn't let my giant angry dude plow your family over just because he didn't know better, have the same courtesy with your children.

You seem to be just as rude as what you think she is. In my opinion she knows what it is like to be a mom or at least have a kid around. You seem a little spoiled and unappreciative of an answer you asked for! Grow up. Drive your durty (your spelling) Lexus to some island that doesn't allow little kids and only big ones!!
Boo HOO!!!!

Maybe she had a bad experience with someone who drove a Lexus before, I don't know. Some people are just like that, I wouldn't worry about it. I agree with you that some people just let their kids run wild without even attempting to control them.

She's just crabby because she is probably one of those parents who thinks their child is god's gift and can do no wrong because she is deluded into thinking she is a good parent. I can't stand those people. Don't they realize that those are the kind of children who grow up to be delinquents and terrorists. I can't stand children and I think it sounds like you did your job well.
