Yes,you can add additional seating. If you have room in the rear to fit a single bucket,or a small bench seat, all you need to do is drill holes in the floorboard which match the factory holes in the frame of the new seat, use the hardware that was originally on the seat you are installing,[so it will meet safety regulations] then install the type of seat belt you want to use. This is easier than you may think!!! My husband and I just finished installing a bucket seat and shoulder lap belt harness in the back of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee for our 5 yr old grandson. With a new baby, and 2 older children there was not enough room on the passenger seat to fit two car seats plus an infant seat in their GrandAm. The seat we installed has been inspected and approved. Just make sure you use the right hardware for installation. We got our seat and hardware from a disabled car,so were able to get exactly what we needed. This also made it easy to know it would meet the safety issue since we were using original factory installed hardware.Same for the seat belt. We actually enjoyed the progect and are proud of the finished result.
