VERY LONG STORY SHORT - Every time I take my car to my personal mechanic- the diagnostic code mechine always read different.. I recently called the Honda Dealership, they told me thier mechine is more acurate... Is that true.? Or do they just want to rip me off ?

Regarding "Incel1's comment"

This is about my car, not my boyfriend. I have good reasons for his behalf. (like studying for the bar exam) improving "our" life -which is none of your business.

Anyway-if you live a bitter life... why not just not share your thoughts--it's a waste of perfectly good writing space. Enough said.

The code reader doesn't determine the code, the engine computer does. It's all digital, so your mechanic's reader will read the exact same as Honda's. There's no room for interpretation. The code reader merely communicates with the car.

honda uses a better or more vehicle specific type of diagnostic software. but it will cost you a little more if you do go to the dealer

Seems to me if your boyfriend is as wonderful as you say he is. He should be able to answer your question. Get a new boyfriend.
