I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau.

I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.


Examples of work can be provided on request. Well don't do those stupid modeling school they don't do anything to help you, it's just a easy way to get money. From someone who is trying to achieve a dream. First you must decide what type of modeling you would like to do. There's many types Runway,Fashion,Commerical Print, High Fashion, and Editoral models. You just need to find out which one or ones you would like to do and, if you have all the requirements for that type of modeling. You need to be educated about modeling to avoid scams. There's lots of modeling agencies out there, claiming that they have all these connections, and really they don't. Real agencies ask for no money . If you go to a agency and they start off telling you to pay for all these fees and stuff you never heard of leave. Real agencies will invest money into you if they see your someone they can make money off of. You need to practice your walk, buy a pair of heels and just practice walking in them. Take photos, try all types of poses, and facial expressions. Your pictures are very important, to start building your portfolio. And last but not least get exposed, get out there visit different agencies.

Firstly, sign up for a good modelling agency. It really depends what kinds of models you wanna be, a Fashion Catwalk model, a Bikini model, a Fitness model or others. Secondly, if you want to be a Catwalk model, make sure you are tall enough to be one. The height of female model is normal around 5 foot 7 (172cm) to 5 foot 11 (180cm). And your Size need to be around 8. If you want to be a Bikini model or Fitness model you don't need to be tall, but you need to have a good figure. Nice body, busty is normally recommended. Thirdly, there are pretty modelling schools, you can learn how to walk and talk properly. Fourly, find a good trainer to build a good body. Last but not least, you need to learn how to present yourself, how to talk, how to introduce something such as products. Makesure you study a lot, knowledge will make you stand out.

Many times talent and modeling agencies have special calls at businesses or malls where unknowns can give a picture, and in a model's case, walk. You could try at one of these.

Well you could audition for America's Next Top Model......but if you are realistic you should put together a portfolio and start looking for an agent and maybe go to some go-sees. If you are a girl.....BEWARE OF SICKOS. If they don't ask for parent's permission or have no credentials WALK AWAY. Have some common sense there are a lot of scammers

Make sure your super hot and that you don't weight like 200lbs.
You probably want to weigh under 100. Go to a modeling agency. Audition, Audition, Audition!

If your attractive and determined enough, you might make it.
