What is a "ta-loo-rye-ay," alternately "too-ra loo-ra too-ra loo-rye-ay"?

I am aware that "Too-Rye-Ay" was an album by Dexys Midnight Runners, but what does it mean?

It's just Irish mumbo jumbo ~ like fa la la la la... LOL It doesn't really mean anything. It was used in old folksongs like this one:

"Mrs. McGraw," the captain said,
"would you like to make a pirate
out of your son, Ted?
With a scarlet cloak and a great ****** hat,
Mrs. McGraw wouldn't you like that?"

With me too-rye-ay
Foddle-diddle-day
With me toorye oorye oorye-ay
With me toorye-ay
Foddle diddle day
Me toorye oorye oorye-ay

Mrs. McGraw lived on the seashore
for the length of seven long years or more
When a great big ship sailed into the bay
"It's my son Ted with his legs away."

Of the many good songs of the 80's you choose the group I hated with that stupid, gag me song Come On Eileen. Yes I'm old enough to remember the 80's and the 50's and 60's and 70's too.
