Why can you not ask a curious question without people taking you seriously.
I find yahoo answers fun because you can ask anything but I've been annoyed lately because people assume because you ask something that your that type of person.
For example you can ask how long would it take to walk to california from dc ... and you don't get answers you get ignorant comments like... why would you walk to cali, or why not take a plane, or your crazy to want to walk... Well duh... it's a question, I wasn't seriously considering this..

That'd be one example...

So why is everyone so serious on here and why is it so hard just to answer what was asked???????

People want their own opinion/personality known. Some people just like hearing their own witty remarks.

It depends on the person's mood, I think. You have a bad day and come home and you're not happy. Yahoo is a good place to vent. It's better to call you or someone else stupid, rather than your boss.

"WASPWITHSTINGER": It would take a lot longer than that to walk from Maine to California. Or do you mean Cali, Maine?

"THEREASONUND": I am doing the motivational chant right now and I will continue to do so until it happens. Don't forget I'm sitting here chanting.

Depends on the people and questions. Buy why would you walk instead of flying or taking a bus? I've never walked it, but I estimate it would take 6 months. It took at least 2 months to go by car from Massachussets to california in 1978. In 2003, my mother and I flew from Rhode Island to California. If you really want answers that arn't serious, post yoru questions under jokes.

I don't know... but I'd say that there sure are a lot of 12 year olds roaming about the internet these days... and a lot of them like to be silly. So... 12 year olds are silly and don't leave serious answers. The only logical solution is that we should ban them...

I'll start a motivational chant....

NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO!

... Come one everybody now!

NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO! NO MORE 12 YEAR OLDS ON YAHOO!

I think you get the idea.

because there are too many people on here that ask dumb questions just to get noticed and/or to cause trouble. sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between someone being a smart@$$ and someone just being cuirous about a funny question.
