I certainly would not take your hard earned money to the Dress Barn. My advice is this, and I have heard from several others crossdressers. Call the store in advance, speak with the manager. Ask if they have policies in place for men using the dressing rooms. You can usually tell on the phone how you will be recieved, if they sound snotty go somewhere else. I have heard that Lane Bryant is good to shop at. But pretty much anywhere you want to shop, it is your money and most stores want it. Unfortuantly there are narrow minded, and bigoted people out there that do not want to help us and that is just sad. But I just tell myself that they will not get my money, cause there is alot of places that would be more than happy to help us. Try to stay away from stores that "cater" to crossdressers, most just prey on our insecurities with overpriced and inferior clothing. Point is you can shop anywhere you want, if they are willing to treat you like a human being, they will probably be rewarded with you buying a lot of things from them, plus you will probably spread the word, and others will be willing to spend in their store as well.
Hope this helps

its a shame that in todays society that your lifestyle choices are still taboo, yet shooting and drug dealing is accepted as a way of life in the city.

Anyway, back to your question- if you have your measurements, try shopping online.

Or- go to a store buy the dress you want and shop at home. Take digital pix and see how the fit is on you. If you dont like it, simply return it. Take a girlfriend out shopping with you and have her pick out something that "suits" you. *lol*

I hate to say it, but until your lifestyle is socially accepted, you will probably not have any luck getting a curtious accepting sales person.

Those old heads at dress barn! Give a call to the store manager, then to the area manager. This discriminatory behavior is not acceptable at all.

Good luck!

Well, I think you should have told them about themselves. I can't even understand why people find time to be rude about things that don't involve them. Sorry that people are still like that. If you have some friends that are crossdressers, maybe ask them where they like to shop. It's just horrible that you are trying to go out and be brave enough to look on the outside how you feel inside and then you get snubbed like that. That sort of thing really ticks me off. Well, before I get started on a rant I think I'll leave it at that. Good luck to you!

You would fit right in at TJ Maxx; there is so much clothing to choose from, you would get lost in the racks, & no one would ever even notice, your after 5 shadow, as everyone is doing the same thing there, and the place is so busy, most people are there to pick up stuff after work as they are going out, just as yourself! The people at dress barn need to get a life, rude just doesn't get it anymore, at least not in my book; I could be rude right back! Why put yourself thru that. Enjoy! life is short!
I hope this helps.

It's a shame a person should have to hide who they are, but if you'd rather be discreet the easiest way would probably be to act like you are buying a dress for a wife or sister. Maybe act like you already know "she" liked it a lot, but didn't get it herself...so you decided to get if for her as a birthday gift. ; )
