Actually on the websites that generate these things there is usually a way to un-subscribe! Also in Yahoo you can mark it as spam...

This is tricky. The way spam works, flagging a message as spam through Yahoo! or Hotmail won't stop spam from the same sender from coming: the spammer only has to SLIGHTLY modify the message and header. Alternatively, clicking on the UNSUBSCRIBE link most times will unsubscribe you, but it also lets the spammer know that your email is legit (otherwise from opening a message, spammers have no way to tell if anof the thousands of email addresses they posses are legit). These spammers then simply cancel the one spam (the one u unsubscribed from) and send you 20 different ones.
The best way I have found to kill all spam forever is:
1. Set up a new mail address
2. DON'T USE IT OR GIVE IT TO ANYBODY BUT PEOPLE YOU WANT TO HEAR FROM. No free surveys, no online forms, NO NOTHING.

Simply check on it..(like the way u do when u delete a e-mail,but don't delete the mail)and click on spam, that way u won't get any more mails from that sites or person. I always do that and it helps me..so Gud Luck!!
