I just got one too and I'm not real clear on the techy stuff but it's a lot of fun. You can connect with your laptop most anywhere. It will automatically search for a signal and let you know when it finds a connection, then you can go on line. I even used it on a train...every time the train would stop it would pick up a signal again. Fun!
