are people from different countries different on the inside?

maybe its just me and the 'difficult age' i am going through, but it feels like since i am russian, i am so different from people that were born and raised in the usa. like the types of friendships people have here with each other than there.
for some reason, i cannot find myself a best friend that will stick by me, and know me well enough. i dont know, maybe ive just changed, but anybody else feel the same way?

No, it's not you. Americans are different from all other people. Other cultures have more in common.

Americans are unreal and that's putting it as kindly as possible. I find them to be superficial, they are closer to what you see on a bad TV sitcom that real life people. They really really believe the nonsense you read or see from media, while other imigrant rely on normal human interaction, human nature, and basic common sense.

Seek good friends from among the other immigrant population - they are more honest.

I found it the same too. I am Taiwanese and I hang out with people from US, Canada, South Africa, though there were good times, I can still sense I don't belong to neither one of the groups somehow. Language, culture, background, etc., really effect friendship between two person from different country. But, on the other hand, sometime I feel the same way toward my own people. So, I guess, be patient and understanding is the key to maintain a different culture friendship. Hope you make more friends.

It is possible that some of your cultural things are very different than others. Some of your family expectations might be different.
