I've never done this before. I'm using a Westell model 6100 that came with my Verizon DSL package and a Netgear wireless router. I'm trying to get my connection running to my laptop.

I had everything connected, all the lights that need to be on are, but I cannot get the internet through the router. When I plug everything in as normal, I get internet.

Here's what I do, like it says on the CD. I unplugged the ethernet cable that ran from the modem to the computer and plugged it into the internet port of the router. I then used the cable that was included with my router to run an ethernet cord from one of the router's LAN ports over to my desktop. When I run the internet through the router, however, I get no internet on my Laptop OR desktop.

I even went to the 192.168.1.1 site to connect to the router and finished all the steps. It said that I succesfully completed setup, and that I should have internet access but I did not. Help me, PLEASE!!

Go into your control panel, and look for wireless network set up wizard. Click on it, and it should walk you through it.

As stated to your previous question, you have to make the Westell into just a DSL modem and not DSL gateway

You have to direct connect into the Westell modem and Start --> run --> type "cmd" and Return

In the command prompt, type "ipconfig/all"

If you get information for the DHCP server or Default Gateway as being 192.168.x.x (or 10.x.x.x or 172.16-31.x.x), then the Westell 6100 working as a Gateway

Go into IE and type the IP address of the router (IP address of the default gateway). Enter the username/password of the Westell Modem (default if I am correct is admin/password for username and password)

Go into one of the tab (I forgot which one but I think it is either Status or VLC) and you need to change the Westell into DSL Bridge. Also, you need to disable the DHCP Enabled of Westell (which will make the Westell modem just a DSL modem)

Then go into your Netgear and Set your WAN as being PPPoE and enter your Verizon username/password as your PPPoE username and password (not the Westell username and password necessarily)

That should make your Westell the DSL modem and your Netgear as the DHCP and router. Then all computers should be able to connect. I recommend to call Verizon tech support who will work you right through the steps with details on troubleshooting the matter

Make sure you have a wireless card for your laptop and then go into the settings (192.168.1.1) and check for any parental control or anything like that. Also make sure it is set to not dial a connection on your computers. Another thing to do is press the reset button on the router and start over.

It's your laptop. Your laptop either 1) finds the connection automatically after searching for 10 mins, or 2) you need to open your connections and manually select your router. Also right click on your internet browser, click on properties, and make sure you do not have a proxy for you LAN connection.

Try calling your ISP (verizon) and make sure that the high-speed modem is 'bridged'.
