start with the paper you should see blue and red threads or hairs in it because it is printed on real cotton.

holding the bill to the light you should see a watermark in the bills (at least the new ones) showing the face of the president on the bill (except for the one dollar bill)

Every bill also has a strand that goes down the the bill vertically that says USA and the amount of what the bill is.

There are indeed many features that are hard to counterfeit but the one you can pay attention to is the little hair-like strings dispersed all over the bill. On a legitimate bill, you can lift this strings using a needle or fine tweezers. If you are able to do this, then the bill is good. If not, or if you can't even see the strings, it is a fake.

A counterfeit pen it contains iodine and when a fake bill comes in contact with the pen it will appear a black or drak green color, but if it a real bill it will be bright yellow. I found this out at www.howthingswork.com. It has a whole article on fakes and how to spot them read and be enlighted

I always look for the real small colored threads. They are hard to fake.

If you look at the serial # then there might be something funny about it.Also idk when you burn money the smoke is a different color.That i got from Rush Hour 2.
