None. The writer of the song where it appears may have other things in his mind. He may have associated life (or more specifically the journey in life) with the rainbow, where the like the rainbow which appears after a rain is like new hope or a new door opening after a terrible hurt. That when we follow the path that leads through this door, at the end, we come face to face with our worth as a person, at peace and with joy of the sucess(pot of gold) achieved.... I think the song started it all....:)

There used to be till I got it last week. Really, I was driving in Kentucky and then this thunderstorm hit and whew I can tell you this one heck of a storm. Well when it cleared up and the rainbow appeared , I was in the right spot, that dang rainbow ended smack dab in front of my truck and let me tell you I am glad I had my truck not a car. That pot of gold was so huge, I had to pay two fools who were fishing to help me put it in the truck. So now I can safely tell you there is not pot of gold at the end of a rainbow anymore.

The question isn't whether the pot of gold exists but rather whether the end of the rainbow exists.

No. This myth is symbolic of man's quest for fortune, fame and all that jazz. The leprachaun never gets his gold because man can never be satisfied. He will always want more. Ever seen the Lucky Charms' commercial- he's always left wanting cause the brats take his desire.

no there is no pot of gold because there is no end, rainbows are circles not arcs ands by definition circles have no end so there can not be a pot of gold at the end because there is no end

No, because the rainbow, is a full circle, you only see half of it, it comes from a Irish folktale.

Yes there is. It is where the leprechauns and the gollywoggles get along well and all people dance and play under the fufu trees next to the yumyum streams.
PS Please dint pass your genetic code to an innocent child.
