i mean everyone just keep on calling me these nasty names like emo and goth and i dont know why i mean i dont wear black...not black nails....just makeup ...that may have SOME dark colors to it...thats just about it....and i dont know what else they could call me that for and i just listen to songs just like everyone else....and everyone thinks that i am so dumb bc i do.....and plus i dont know bc i used to be like IN with crowd and it seems like they are pushing me away from them....i just dont know what to do and if you knokw will you PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

No, you wouldn't be. don't worry about it. The people that make fun of you are just stupid.
People feel the need to label every walking creature on earth when it's not needed and discriminate against it because of the generalizations people make that have been set about that group of people that normally aren't true. Emo and Goth aren't nasty, they're just nasty in the way people are using them lately. They're also dumbasses because 30 Seconds TO Mars aren't an emo band whatsoever.
People need to learn that people are people and not genre's of music and they can listen to whatever music they want to without having to worry about being put into groups.
just tell them they're all just completely stupid and repeat what I just said. They may let down and if their smart they will.
by the way, I hope you realize that Emo and Goth are in fact music genres and NOT people and you stop using them as terms for people.

you are you and just because you listen music you like doesnt make you anything. Goth and emo are just labels ppl give to other ppl they dont understand. So forget what they think and keep doing what you love. They are pushing you away bc you are doing something different and being and individual. Being IN is a state of mind. who cares what they think and just do what you like and be who you are and you will find ppl who respect your views and like the same things as you. The type of music does not determine who or what you are (even though it is a factor.) I think your "friends" in the "in" crowd are a little to preppy if they think 30 seconds to mars is "goth" maybe "emo" not "goth" I would just tell them that its really good music and for them just to listen to it. Plus if they push you out just because you listen to a certian type of music, they arn't too good of friends.

no it would not be emo or goth to hang out and listen to music thats fits emo or goth. and the people that call u this are jealous because your have awsome friends that my be emo or goth. just ignore that. i am goth/freak and i get called names all the time and if u don't listen to them it want hurt u. JUST IGNORE WHAT OTHERS SAY. AND BE YOURSELF the people that your hang out with that are emo and emoth are being thierselve and u don't see them complianing about others calling them names.

Is it SUCH a horrible concept to be considered emo? Listen babe, enjoy the music you love; stop caring about what anyone else says. I've got everything from hardcore metal to local alt to bubblegum pop on my iPod and I'm d*mn proud of it. Don't let people label you by the kind of music you listen to, and if they do, ignore them.
But I must say this one more time: is it really a TRUE TRAVESTY to be EMO, dangit?
